Inspector General Busse is a fictional character who appeared in the Hogan's Heroes episode, War Takes a Holiday. He was played by Frank Marth.
In late 1944, Inspector General Busse sends Klink advance notice that he is coming to inspect Stalag 13 for the Red Cross. On his way there, he learns that Major Hochstetter has captured four top leaders of the underground, whom he is temporarily holding in the cooler at the POW camp before sending them to Berlin. But when Busse arrives at Stalag 13, he is shocked to find the camp in a shambles, with guards and prisoners carousing together. He immediately confronts Klink and Hochstetter, who tell him that they have received word that the war is over. Busse angrily informs them that the war is far from over, and that they have obviously been tricked by the underground (actually Colonel Hogan and his men), and is outraged to discover that Hochstetter has been so taken in by the ruse that he has released the captured underground leaders. After Hogan slyly points out to Klink that he still has his own prisoners, the Kommandant quickly has the camp secured again, leaving Busse to focus his wrath entirely on Hockstedder, immediately ordering the Major to follow him in his car. When Hochstetter is forced to admit that he has lent his car to the underground leaders, Busse ends up taking him in the Inspector General's own vehicle, presumably to be turned over to his SS superiors to be punished for his stupidity.
