Leon Alton (born Benjamin Wolff Stermer; August 23, 1907 - August 25, 1995) was an American television, stage, and screen actor who had a career lasting from the 1920s to the 1970s. He appeared, albeit uncredited, on one Hogan's Heroes episode, Gowns by Yvette, as Man on Elevator.
In 1928, he got married to his first wife, Helena Frances Stephen, with whom he had 1 child, the two later divorcing at an unknown date.
In the 1930s he started out on the Broadway stage, appearing in various musicals which lasted until the early 1940s. Then like many Broadway actors and dancers, he seemingly drifted his way to Hollywood where he was able to use his talents as a dancer to appear in many party scenes in a suit dancing in some of the most well known films.
In 1946, Leon Alton married his second wife, Helen Gunster. They had no children, aside from Alton's child from his previous marriage. They remained married until his death in 1995.
Like many dancers though, that was only part of their work as they could not survive on musicals alone and by the mid 1950s, musicals started to lose their popularity so he had to find work elsewhere, although he was never unemployed long.
Leon Alton died at 88 on August 25, 1995 of age-related causes in North Hollywood, California, two days after his 88th birthday.
