Marya Hoganova is a minor secondary fictional character who appeared in several episodes of the 1960s sitcom, Hogan's Heroes. She was played by Nita Talbot.

About Marya[]

Marya is a Russian spy working in Europe particularly in France, starting with Nazi Germany's takeover and its fall. She was assigned to work along with the French Resistance to overhear enemy plans and stage an insurrection.

She is once located in Paris, working out of a White Russian café moonlighting as a gypsy or fortune teller. She has some influence on the head of the Paris Gestapo, and therefore also knew about the prisoners he has under his charge, including, at the time, Tiger Lily the co-leader of the French Resistance. Colonel Hogan, after having heard of Tiger's capture and needing her for a mission related to Stalag 13, secretly goes to Paris with LeBeau. He asks Marya for assistance, which she gives him after Hogan promises to give her information on several secret German fighter bases. She is seen flirting with Hogan and LeBeau. She kisses both of them and the Gestapo leader. Marya proves to valuable for the Heroes, even as going to get a Russian actor to impersonate Heinrich Himmler in order to deal with the Paris Gestapo. The operation is a success and Tiger Lily is saved. .

Marya would team up with Hogan and his men on several more occasions. Each time, she is seen acting as if she is the assistant and/or lover of a Nazi officer.

Despite her proving each time they work together that she is on their side, Hogan doesn't completely trust her. LeBeau, on the other hand, seems to have fallen in love with her.

Interestingly, Marya is the one character in the series to consistently get the better of Hogan. Though the two of them always work towards the same goal (defeat of Nazi Germany, frustration and delay of the German war effort, etc), Marya demonstrates the unique ability to outmaneuver Hogan.

After World War II[]

Nothing is known of Marya's fate after the conclusion of World War II.
