Sergeant Olsen is a fictional character who appeared in several episodes of the 1960s sitcom, Hogan's Heroes. He was played by Stewart Moss.

Known Character Information[]

Sergeant Olsen, a sergeant in the USAAF, is one of the prisoners in Stalag 13. He is also a member of Colonel Hogan Anti-Nazi organization that is based inside the camp. Olsen's main job is that of the group's "outside man", which he explains to Lieutenant Carter at the start of The Informer: He is to leave the camp and is to meet up with the escaping prisoner and he is to exchange places with him so that the prisoner could be processed, thus the number of prisoners remains the same. Once the prisoner has been processed, and is ready to be sent back to England, he would come back into camp. In another incident, when the prisoners are planning to destroy a German ammunition train, Olsen is the one selected to leave camp in Oscar Schnitzer's truck, after getting into it during a phony air raid and help to destroy the train. But, because of a surprise visit by the inspector general, the plan is aborted by Hogan himself, who suddenly opened up the back of the truck, thus releasing both a surprised Olsen and the guard dogs that are inside the truck. Olsen is later sent to the cooler for 30 days by an angry Colonel Klink. He is also mentioned in passing at another time (How to Cook a German Goose by Radar), while also being seen several other times in the series.

Final Fate[]

Nothing is known of the final fate of Sergeant Olsen, although it can be assumed that he is still alive when the camp is liberated by the advancing Allied armies.
